FamilyNote

Privacy Policy

FamilyNote helps you think of your people. Here is, in plain words, what the app does with your information, and above all what it does not.

Everything stays with you

FamilyNote works without an account, without sign-up and without a server. Your people, their days, your little notes and your history live only in your phone’s memory. Nothing is transmitted, to anyone, ever. The app does not even ask for Internet access: you can check it in Android’s settings, under the app’s permissions.

Your address book

When you link someone to an entry in your address book, the app only keeps the link to that entry. The number is read from the address book at the very moment you call or write, then forgotten. When adding several people at once, the list of names is shown for the time of your choice and is not kept. FamilyNote does not copy your address book, does not modify it and keeps no backup of it.

Photos

A person’s photo is chosen by you, from your gallery or from their address book entry. It is then copied into the app’s private space, on your phone only. It is deleted if you replace it or if you remove the person. It never leaves your device and is not part of the backup file.

Reminders

Notifications are built and shown by your phone itself, on the days and at the time you chose. None comes from a server. They only contain the first names you typed yourself.

Your calls and messages

FamilyNote opens your phone or messaging app, prepares your little note if you have one, then steps aside. It never sends anything on your behalf, does not read your conversations and keeps none of it. The history only notes that you reached out, never what you said.

Backup

You can export your people and your history to a file, whenever you decide. That file is handed to your phone’s share sheet: you choose where it goes. Android’s automatic backup to an online space is turned off: nothing leaves without your gesture.

No tracking, no ads

No advertising, no usage statistics, no tracker, no advertising ID. Nobody knows how you use FamilyNote, not even the people who made it.

Deleting

Removing a person erases their information and their photo. Uninstalling the app erases everything it contained. There is no copy anywhere else: the publisher holds none of your data and therefore can neither read it, return it, nor sell it.

Your rights

Since your data never leaves your device, you are its only keeper: viewing, correcting or deleting it happens right in the app. For any question about this policy, write to raphaelferrandis@gmail.com.
